MONEL FLAT BARS

Kiran Enterprises is a leading supplier, exporter, and stockist of Monel flats in Mumbai, India. Semi-finished products with a rectangular cross-section, often related to flat rolled products, are highly popular across various industries. Monel sheets and flat bars are particularly valuable when reliable protection against chemical corrosion from aggressive substances is needed. Monel metal is highly resistant to fresh and seawater, hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids, and various alkalis.
Production Process
Monel flat bars and sheets are produced through rolling, either hot or cold. Typically, cold-rolled products are thinner due to additional passes through the rolling mill.
In hot rolling, workpieces are heated and rolled, sometimes over multiple passes, depending on the final dimensions required. After rolling, several technological operations are carried out to clean the surface of chemical byproducts and to achieve the necessary mechanical properties, dimensions, and finish. These operations include heat treatment, straightening, mechanical and chemical processing, edge trimming, and cutting.
Cold-rolled Monel flat bars and sheets undergo a similar process but without heating the workpieces.
Monel flat bars are characterized by a limited width and typically have a length-to-width ratio of at least 5.
The dimensions, delivery specifications, and mechanical properties of Monel 400 alloy products are regulated by Kiran Enterprises, which holds the rights to the MONEL trademark.
Applications
Monel sheets and flat bars are widely used as construction materials in shipbuilding and industries dealing with chemicals. These semi-finished products are ideal for manufacturing marine and river vessel hulls, pump components, and heat exchanger parts, offering excellent corrosion resistance in both sea and fresh water environments.
